Terms & Conditions

The rules for using UMscope Ticket, whether you're buying a ticket, answering an invitation or running an event.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to everyone who uses umscopeticket.com ("UMscope Ticket"), operated by Umscope Ltd, 1216 Ibiyinka Olorunbe, Victoria Island, Lagos 101241, Nigeria ("UMscope", "we", "us"). By creating an account, buying a ticket, responding to an invitation or listing an event, you agree to them.

Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy form part of these terms.

2. Our role

UMscope provides the technology for organisers to sell tickets, send invitations and check guests in. The organiser, not UMscope, runs each event and is responsible for it: its content, safety, venue, timing, age limits and whether it goes ahead. When you buy a ticket, your agreement to attend is with the organiser; we collect payment on the organiser's behalf and pass it on to them.

3. Accounts

  • You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy tickets. A parent or guardian should book for anyone younger.
  • Give accurate details and keep them up to date. Tickets and passes are sent to the email address you provide.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
  • One person may not hold several accounts to get around limits, suspensions or coupon rules.

4. Buying tickets

  • Prices are shown in Naira and include any fees shown at checkout. A booking is confirmed only when Paystack confirms your payment and we email your ticket.
  • Each ticket has a QR code that admits the number of people stated on it, once. Keep it private: whoever presents it first may be admitted.
  • Organisers may refuse entry, for example for an invalid or already-used ticket, unsafe behaviour or breaking the venue's rules. Entry decisions are the organiser's.
  • Coupon codes are set by the organiser, may expire or run out, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Reselling tickets for profit is not allowed unless the organiser permits it.

5. Private events, RSVPs and gifts

  • Invitations, RSVP links and passes are personal. Don't share a personal invite link; the pass it creates is tied to your name and party size.
  • Organisers decide RSVP deadlines, how many people each guest may bring, and when RSVPs close.
  • Cash gifts are paid through Paystack straight to the organiser's wallet and are a gift to the organiser, not a payment to UMscope. Registry items you claim are bought and delivered by you, outside UMscope.

6. Organisers

If you list an event or send invitations, you also agree that:

  • Your event details are accurate and kept up to date, including the date, time, venue, prices and any age limits, and that you will tell attendees promptly about changes.
  • Your event and its listing are lawful, and you hold any licences, permits and rights (including for music, images and names) that it needs.
  • You will honour every valid ticket, and give refunds where the Refund Policy or the law requires, including when you cancel an event.
  • You will use attendee and guest data only to run your event, keep it secure, and comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. For guest lists you upload, you are the data controller (see our Privacy Policy).
  • Fees are those shown on our Pricing page for your plan at the time of the sale.
  • Payouts go to the bank account you register, after it is verified with Paystack. We may hold payouts while we look into fraud, chargebacks or complaints about an event, or if the law requires it.
  • You are responsible for any taxes due on your ticket sales and gifts.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • List fake or misleading events, or sell tickets you can't honour.
  • Use stolen payment details, or try to get around payment, fees or ticket limits.
  • Copy, forge or tamper with tickets, passes or QR codes.
  • Upload anything unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Send spam, or add people to guest lists without a lawful reason to contact them.
  • Attack, overload, scrape or try to gain unauthorised access to the platform.

We may remove content, cancel listings, withhold payouts or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and report illegal activity to the authorities.

8. Your content and ours

You keep ownership of the flyers, descriptions and other content you upload. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and share it to run and promote your event on UMscope Ticket and our social channels. The UMscope name, logo, site design and software belong to us and may not be copied without our permission.

9. Availability

We work to keep UMscope Ticket available and secure, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, for example during maintenance or when Paystack, email or network providers have problems. Organisers should keep their own back-up plan for check-in at the door.

10. Liability

Because organisers run their events, UMscope is not responsible for an event's quality, safety, changes, cancellation or anything that happens at it. Claims about an event should be made against its organiser, though we will help you contact them.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees UMscope received from the transaction the claim relates to, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law, including under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.

Organisers agree to compensate UMscope for claims, losses and costs caused by their event or by breaking these terms.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using UMscope Ticket at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing support@umscopeticket.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Tickets already bought for upcoming events stay valid unless the account was closed for fraud.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and tell you by email or on the site before significant changes take effect. If you keep using UMscope Ticket after that, the new terms apply.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If we can't, disputes will be decided by the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
